UPDATED: August 19
As you’ve no doubt heard, the Delta Variant is pummeling Oregon and the rest of the country. Oregon will resume a statewide face mask mandate indoors, regardless of vaccination status. While this is disappointing, it isn’t altogether unexpected: Tillamook County, where Manzanita resides, saw 79 new cases of Covid-19 during the three-day period of Aug.-6-Aug.8.
At an emergency Manzanita city council meeting on August 19, the council readopted a state of emergency, readopted mask requirement on Laneda Ave. and added that masks are required at Farmers Market. You will now see the ‘Mask Zone’ signs back along Laneda Avenue. Face masks are required indoors all across the state. As of Friday, August 27 face masks will be mandated outdoors by order of Oregon’s governor.
You know the drill. Bring your mask with you and wear it inside our shops and restaurants. You can also drop by the Visitors Center Wed.-Sun. to pick up a free one.
Finally, if you are unvaccinated at this point, postpone or cancel your trip here until this new surge is under control.
