Remembering Denny Hennessy

Our hearts are heavy with the recent news of the passing of our friend and longtime Visitor Center volunteer, Denny Hennessy. Everything about Denny was big: his smile, his laugh, his handshake, his heart. He was a musician, a tinkerer, a gardener, and a master storyteller. Denny had volunteered at the Visitors Center since 2014 and he loved being there every Tuesday, greeting people from around the world. You’d often see him outside the building, tending to the beautiful flower gardens he’d create every spring and summer. His heart was bursting with love for Manzanita and he found immense joy in being an ambassador for our little town. Nothing made him happier than making someone smile. His favorite moment was getting visitors to put a pin on our large wall map to show where they’d traveled from. The light in Manzanita is a little dimmer today, but we know Denny is ready for his next adventure.

God speed, my friend.
