Lodging
You won’t find towering resort condominium buildings or chain hotels in the Nehalem Bay area.
What you will find is a blend of boutique inns, bed-and-breakfast accommodations, distinctive vacation rentals and camping options.
Together, Manzanita and Neahkahnie offer several hundred vacation rentals, from romantic bungalows, to sprawling beach houses equipped for the whole family. Several homes have been settings for feature films. Some boast expansive ocean views, while others are located along the Manzanita Golf Course, or quiet neighborhood streets. You can find homes that are rustic, modern or stately.
There are several vacation rental agencies with staffs ready to help you reserve the perfect home for your stay.
Manzanita and Wheeler offer several hotels and inns, each with a unique atmosphere. Your options here include a lodge along the bay, a room in a renovated turn-of-the-century hotel or an oceanfront motel with a pool.
Meanwhile, Nehalem Bay State Park, which is situated on a 3-mile-long sand spit south of Manzanita, features 265 campsites. In addition to tent and RV camping, the park offers 18 yurts along with a fly-in camp for pilots of small airplanes and their passengers, and a hiker-biker camp. Even equestrians can make themselves at home at the park’s horse camp.
For those who prefer to camp in a more remote setting, the Oregon Department of Forestry hosts Nehalem Falls Campground, located roughly 10 miles east of Manzanita.
