Fourth of July: A Full Day of Manzanita Celebrations

It’s almost time for the biggest small-town 4th of July celebration on the North Oregon Coast. Make plans to take part in a full day of activities for the whole family to enjoy. As always, the greatest way to support any event is by attending:

Monday, July 4, 2016
8 – 11 AM / Pancake Breakfast
5th & Laneda (former fire hall), $
Bring your friends or make new ones while enjoying a hot breakfast in support of our Neah-Kah-Nie athletic teams.

1 PM / Community Parade
Laneda Avenue (starting at Classic Ave.)
The more, the merrier at our fun-filled hometown parade. From marching bands to giant crabs to dancing librarians, we have it all.
To be in the parade, you must register visit City of Manzanita website to find registration forms – space is limited!

5 pm / Live music featuring Baby Gramps
Nehalem Bay Winery
Food, wine, beer, and music. Bring the family!

10 PM / Fireworks
Manzanita Beach
Cozy up with a beach blanket, savor the sunset over the Pacific, then enjoy the best fireworks display on the Oregon Coast.

Dan Haag
Born and raised in the great white north of Minnesota, Dan Haag felt the pull of the north Oregon Coast in the early 90s. Finding that rain never needed to be shoveled, he married an Oregon girl and settled in Manzanita, where he works as director of the Manzanita Visitors Center. He is also a freelance writer whose work has appeared in a variety of state and national publications. He spends his free time wandering the area’s many trails, supporting the Oregon wine and beer industry, perusing coastal bookstores, and chasing his black Labrador, Lilo, along the beach.
