Calling All Performers! Community Talent Showcase Coming Soon

One of the Hoffman Center For The Arts’ most exciting events of the year, The Manzanita Community Talent Showcase, has been set for Saturday, January 30th at 7:00 p.m. This year we’ll also be doing a matinee show the following day( 1/31).

We’re looking for musicians, magicians, comedians, singers, actors, ventriloquists, or whatever kind of talent someone wants to show off.

The acts must be suitable for all ages and last no more than five minutes. First time performers will be given priority.

Admission will be $10. All proceeds will go to support the Center’s general operating fund.

Have an itch to perform? Hoffman Center For The Arts has issued a call for local performers to audition.

Auditions are set for Wednesday, Jan. 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. This year’s talent showcase will include two events – Saturday night, Jan. 30, and a matinee on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 31.

“We’re looking for a variety of music, magic, comedy, singing, reading, actors, or whatever would entertain the audiences,” said Center board member Dave Dillon. “Acts need to be no more than five minutes long and suitable for all ages.”

The Center hopes to have 10-15 acts per show.

Showcase admission will be $10, and all proceeds will go to support the Center’s general operating fund. Registration form for performers are available here

Dan Haag
Born and raised in the great white north of Minnesota, Dan Haag felt the pull of the north Oregon Coast in the early 90s. Finding that rain never needed to be shoveled, he married an Oregon girl and settled in Manzanita, where he works as director of the Manzanita Visitors Center. He is also a freelance writer whose work has appeared in a variety of state and national publications. He spends his free time wandering the area’s many trails, supporting the Oregon wine and beer industry, perusing coastal bookstores, and chasing his black Labrador, Lilo, along the beach.
